The amount of pallet supports needed is determined by the weight load and size of your pallet racking system. They are used to increase safety in the case of broken or misplaced pallets which would otherwise cause harm or injury to persons working nearby.
Supports make your pallet racking more secure by stopping the pallet from breaking and falling between the 2 supporting beams should the pallet have been misplaced, they would stop it from slipping and falling between beams by adding extra support and overall coverage to the bottom of the pallet. Support bars are not designed to take the weight of a pallet filled to maximum capacity which is why we recommend 25% of the weight per support bar.
