Advanced Handling & Storage Ltd
The Pallet Racking People
Pallet racking is arguably one of the most important parts of a warehouse. They give you the flexibility of storage space, make the working environment better and maximise the use of space. Pallet racking is something that will last you for a long time… but only if you look after it!
It is now a legal requirement to get your racking inspected on an annual basis and it is best practice to do monthly checks on it as well by a competent person. If you fail to monitor your pallet racking and the condition it is in this could result in a delay in service, having no stock control, employee injury or even in some cases death.
A racking system that is always faulty or is always in need of repairs is a sign that there may be an underlying problem. Whether it be that the racking has not been installed correctly, there is no clear path in the warehouse for fork trucks which can result in bashing into the rack, or the reason may be that the weight that is being stored is heavier than the beams can take. There c an be numerous reasons that there is regular damage. This is something that the knowledgeable team at Advanced Handling and Storage can help you find out!
Another thing you need to be aware of is rust, corrosion or other signs that the racking may be damaged or weakening. Again this is something you can keep your eye on with the regular inspections which need to be done.
As mentioned previously, we can do rack repairs or we can provide you with all the safety equipment to ensure that your racking is looked after properly.
We are proud to be distributors of the A-Safe range which includes bollards, rack end barriers, pedestrian barriers and much more. All designed to keep your racking safe.
