The Pallet Racking People
Keeping your warehouse and staff protected from potential risks should be your main priority when it comes to health and safety. There are approximately 2500 work place injuries in the transport and storage industry in the UK each year. Working within a warehouse with high traffic brings another level of safety into consideration when looking at your warehouse design – heavy vehicles such as forklifts can cause serious accidents and even fatalities.
Warehouse barriers are designed to protect workers, racking and buildings from collisions with moving objects such as forklifts, reach trucks and other carriers. For example, warehouse crash barriers can protect pallet racking from collapsing if knocked by a vehicle and causing damage to stock and injuries to employees.
Warehouse crash barriers are designed to spread the force of impact from a collision, reducing the amount of damage caused. The use of barriers will slow a vehicle down and absorb some of the energy, so there is less impact at the point of collision. They can also help to stop forklifts from over-turning in the warehouse by redirecting them on impact, saving any injury to the forklift operator or other staff members. There are various types of warehouse barriers available, made from either solid or flexible materials.
Warehouses may need various types of barriers installed depending on their requirements, all are but through safety testing to meet industry standards.
Bollard Systems – including bollards with a steel core, floor mounted roller posts and door frame protection. Engineered to protect your equipment, concrete floors and people.
Crash Barrier Systems – designed for total damage protection include floor mounted barrier systems. Ideal for protecting wall perimeters, creating traffic lanes, framing off areas and separating people from equipment.
Pedestrian Barriers – designed to separate your people from dangerous equipment.
Racking Barriers – protect your racking from impact, collisions and common bumps – racking barriers are designed to keep your structures safe.
Column Guards – add protection with column guards in either metal protection or high density polyethylene. Either will cushion your columns protecting from impacts.
