Advanced Handling & Storage Ltd
The Pallet Racking People
If you own a business where you are required to store a large amount of items, or items that are in a niche; designing a well operated warehouse shelving system is essential for organisation and seamless day-to-day operations.
At Advanced Handling & Storage we have a wide range of warehouse shelving options to suit both stock and workflow. If you require help or support working out the best shelving system design for your business, our team of knowledgeable experts will be happy to help.
Here are some things you should consider before choosing a warehouse shelving system.
Consider what type of stock you will be storing. It is important to think about the size, weight, variations and rotation needs of your inventory.
You should also think about the space you have available in your warehouse. Do you have limited floor space or any open vertical space to take advantage of? Depending on your warehouse layout, you might have room for multi-tiered installations or a mezzanine floor.
How your team uses and navigates the system and surrounding space should also be considered, for both safety and productivity reasons.
We always want to help our customers which is why we work tirelessly to stock a diverse range of second hand shelving in our very own warehouse.
There are many circumstances where second hand shelving will fit a business perfectly. We know that business owners like to keep costs low but also want to make the most of the space they have. In this case, a second hand shelving solution could be the answer!
Some of the most common types of shelving we come across include meta fix bolted, meta quick boltless, meta mini rack, tyre racks, kan ban, coil storage, two-tier shelving, three-tier shelving and mobile shelving.
All of the shelving that comes into our warehouse is quality checked and cleaned before delivery. You can find out about what systems we have available by giving us a call on 0800 345 7088.
At Advanced Handling & Storage, we stock only the highest quality equipment and offer the best services to prioritise health and safety on installation.
We use only SEMA qualified and accredited installers, inspectors and measures to ensure that we meet industry standards and that your systems adhere to all regulations.
Once your shelving installation is complete, it can’t simply be left to look after itself. Naturally, warehouse equipment is subject to wear and tear as well as accidental damage as a result of daily operations.
Under current legislation, The Health and Safety At Work Act 1974 and the PUWER Regulations requires that if you use pallet racking (or any other storage system) , then it will lawfully require regular inspections by a technically competent person for example a SEMA Approved Racking Inspector (SARI).
Regular pallet racking safety inspections can help reduce insurance premiums and overall maintenance costs.
